About Danylo

I'm Danylo Kiriienko — a visual designer who creates across graphic design, video, motion and 3D, with a background in computer science. I'm currently exploring AI-generated images and video as a new part of this practice.

Early years

Me as a small boy on a hilltop, one hand on my head, with green hills and a hazy sea behind.

I was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, in 2005. Before school, I went to a kindergarten in my neighbourhood. At the age of six, I started at Logos Lyceum, where I attended extra classes in computer science, chess and other activities.

Boys in school suits and white shirts in a crowd outside, two of them smiling at the camera.

When I was around twelve, I started training in Muay Thai. It became an important part of my teenage years and eventually led me to my first competitions.

A laptop and a new direction

In 2019, I received a laptop as a New Year's gift and began actively exploring digital media. I started with Photoshop and gradually moved into After Effects, learning graphic design, editing and motion by making things myself.

My first computer corner: a laptop with a blurred screen, a webcam, a speaker and a desk lamp against a grey wall.

At fourteen, I entered my first city-level Muay Thai competition and took first place.

After a Muay Thai bout a referee raises the hand of a fighter in a blue chest guard and red shorts; his opponent stands on the left.

That year, friends and I also created Pappa Squad, a small collective built around music, visual work and promotion. I worked on graphic design and videos.

A laptop on a desk, its screen once a video call with friends, now worn away to dark with a few faint squares left.

First jobs

In the summer of 2020, I worked at SvitloTehnika in Zaporizhzhia, assembling lighting fixtures. That autumn, I started working as a 3D artist at TechProm, creating product models for the company's website.

Both taught me how to learn a process quickly, work carefully and turn a task into a finished result. Around the same period, I began taking on freelance graphic design, video editing and motion work.

Building PCs

In September 2021, a friend and I started PC Ukraine, a small project focused on building and selling computers. My main responsibility was assembling the PCs. We also ran an Instagram account, spoke with customers and worked with their requests.

The project continued until the war began in 2022. At the same time, I kept developing my freelance work in graphic design, video editing and motion.

A new start

When the war forced me to leave Ukraine, I moved to Norway.

A teenager in a grey hat and a camouflage jacket holds a paper cup under a dark roof at night.

In 2022, I enrolled in a computer science programme at Karazin University.

A snowy street at night with a few people walking away along the pavement under falling snow.

From my first year, I was involved in the student council's PR department. I worked as one of its main designers for social media and, for a period, became the head of the department.

Different kinds of work

In 2024, I worked remotely for FlyHacks, helping customers find routes and book airline tickets. In 2025, I worked as a Wolt delivery partner.

These jobs were outside my main creative direction, but they gave me experience with customers, responsibility and adapting to new environments. Alongside them, I continued working as a freelance graphic designer, video editor and motion designer.

Now

In 2026, I completed my bachelor's degree in computer science. That summer, I worked as a team leader at The Camp, an international children's camp in Órgiva, Spain.

I'm currently experimenting with AI-generated images and video. Advertising is the next direction I want to explore, while continuing to build on my experience in design, editing, motion and technology.

I'm open to different possibilities: developing something of my own, joining an interesting project or working with people who want to turn an idea into something real. I'm looking for opportunities to grow and to find my own path.
